The End in Mentes en blanco

Last monday (7/11) I went the FM radio show “Mentes en blanco” where a some members of the “The End” where to do an exclusive interview and to perform some unplugged songs.

Gorgui Moffatt, Matias Dietrich and Henán Simó chatted during an hour remembering things from their beginning as a band until their latest 20th Aniversary show at the Gran Rex.

During the show they delighted us with three wonderful songs “Confortably Numb“, “Pigs on the wind” and “Wish you where here” (the full interview and the songs can be downloaded here)

As usual I took some pictures to freeze the moment and to remember it.

Voxpop video on CASA home page

The latest Voxpop video “Tuve tu pachanga loca” was published on the front page of CASA (The Contemporary A Capella Society) as the video of the week.

Really glad to have worked on it and congratulations to Voxpop to have been selected to be there.

Voxpop – New mashup music video

My friend Javier Diez from Voxpop challenged me and asked if I dare to record and edit their new mashup song “Tuve tu pachanga loca”, my answer was straight and simple. “If you dare to have me behind the camera I have no problem to do it, or at least try it.”

The mashup mixes three songs, La pachanga (1992) by Vilma Palma e VampirosLivin’ La Vida Loca (1999) by Ricky Martin and Tu Veneno (2000) by Natalia Oreiro.

Javier was the mind behind the idea, he developed all the concept work and he followed closely all the work steps. My job was to record all the video footage and I was in charge of the editing (under Javier’s direct supervision). The audio was recorded, mixed and arranged by Tommy Mayer-Wolf and Manuel Moreno in Estudio Openhaus.

This is the final product of many hours of fun working together.

Hope you like it.

Voxpop saturday concert

Last Saturday I went to a concert of my friends from Voxpop, an Argentinian acapella band who sings mostly cover songs from the 80’s and 90’s mixed with humor and mashup in a particular and funny way.

They are performing every Friday and Saturday at the Paseo La Paza complex in Buenos Aires. In the small but cute Julio Cortazar’s lounge, and so far, sold out almost every day (good for them).

Initially I wasn’t carrying my camera with, but in a split second I thought why should be this the first time I don’t take any pictures from their concerts? And I am glad I changed my mind and brought it.

As usual their performance was superb. One of the best and funniest moments was when they, in a remembrance of the past, came into the stage with wigs representing their rock&roll era and tried to hit on a girl from the audience, simply hilarious.

Here you have some pictures from the show, hope you like them.

The End – A concert in a song – Day two

Second day of a two-day concert, at the Samsung Studio in Buenos Aires by The End. (February 9, 2011)

This time a lighter song was picked (Brain damage/Eclipse) and again nearly 600 pictures were used to make the video.

On this day I was on the other side of the stage, there was less light and more focused one than the day before (a red and a blue light that killed me all night long).

Many of the pictures made a good conversion into black and white.

Here you can see the final video and some pictures of the concert.

The End – A concert in a song – Day one

This is the first post, let’s hope the first of many to come, it is a timelapse (kind of) made with nearly 600 fotos taken during a gig by The End in Buenos Aires on February 8, 2011.

I’ll post the gallery photos of the concert in a later post, or you can see them at The Ends oficial facebook page.

I always felt that only a tiny selection of the photos I took in a concert actually where seen or published, and that many of the unpublished/unseen ones where also nice material and something could be done with them.

Reading Ted Ratcliff 80 days – 8000 photos blog post and watching the video I realized that something similar could be done with the unseen pictures of many concerts, so I started to work and think about it.

Here is the result, I hope you like it and find it intresting.
